Laminate Flooring
Now, laminate can work beautifully in bathrooms, but here's the catch - installation has to be spot-on. You absolutely need to go with water-resistant or fully waterproof laminate to keep moisture at bay.
Think of laminate as a sandwich with four layers: a tough transparent wear layer on top, a design layer that mimics wood or stone, an inner core made from medium or high-density fibreboard, and finally a backing layer that keeps everything stable and moisture-resistant.
When it's installed correctly, laminate stands up to busy family life and high-splash zones brilliantly. But cut corners on installation or maintenance, and moisture can sneak into that core layer and cause warping. You've been warned!
